One of Bristol’s busiest streets will be closed off for 3 nights as a number of pre-built flats are craned into a former nightclub. Park Street is home to an array of shops, bars and restaurants and soon to be home to students occupying these 9 unique flats.
In order to install the new apartments, the roof will be removed to allow the flats to be lowered in and stacked on top of each other. Thought to be the first time in the UK that homes have been specifically made to fit an empty, existing property, this could pave the way for future developers.
The project belongs to Jonathan Brecknell, Director at Urban Creation. He said “we’re very excited to be taking modular construction to a new level, using a highly innovative approach that could have huge implications for home building in the UK”. The units have been built in Southampton and come complete with fitted kitchens and bathrooms leaving much less installation time on site.
Modular construction has historically been reserved for new build, often greenfield sites. Only time will tell if Urban Creations innovative approach will take off elsewhere.
After months of meticulous planning ahead of the new campaign, the 2019/2020 English Football League season gets underway this weekend.
Our City is proud to be home of both Bristol City FC (Championship) and Bristol Rovers FC (League 1). City will kick off their campaign against Leeds United FC who are favourites to win the league title by the end of the season. City will of course be pushing for promotion to the Premier League which would certainly put Bristol on the international map. Rovers will take on Blackpool in their opening fixture.
Bristol Res are proud to be associated with both clubs, working with Player Services to help new signings find a home in order to settle into the City. With Bristol City being particular busy in the transfer market this summer, we have seen some of our most premium apartments snapped up by these high earning, quality professional players relocating to the City.
