Which famous alcoholic beverage was blended on Denmark Street for nearly 200 years ?
Harveys Bristol Cream. This is a Spanish fortified wine (sherry) that was first blended and bottled by John Harvey on Denmark Street, Bristol in 1796. With his unique blend of wines John Harvey was able to create an original creamier sherry which became incredibly popular in the 19th century. The sherry was blended on Denmark Street until 1960 when it its production was moved out of the city centre to Whitchurch.
