Q: Do I have to wait until the end of a tenancy to switch agents?

No. The tenancy will remain in place – it is just the agent that will change. We do this all the time so will make sure your tenant understands what is happening.

Q: What is the first step to switching agents?

Call us and explain your situation. We will then provide you with an email that can be sent to your current agent allowing us access to the information required to make the switch.

Q: Do I have a notice period with my current agent?

We would expect there to be a notice period – it will be detailed in the Terms of Business you signed with your agent. If you explain how frustrated you are – many agents will allow you to negotiate out of this period.

Q: What will happen to the deposit?

Leave that to us. We will contact the agent and get the deposit moved to our TDS scheme.

Q: I don’t think my agent has completed all my safety certificates?

Don’t worry – when we take on a new property we make sure it has all the necessary licensing and certificates. If any are missing we will get them organised for you.

Q: I am currently managing the property myself – can I switch to you?

Yes of course. Legislation is continuously changing and making it harder and more time consuming for landlords to self-manage. Take advantage of our expertise and experience and let us manage the property for you. It is also worth remembering that letting and management fees are a tax deductible expense.
